Surfing

Doughmore Strand, Lahinch Beach and the Spanish Point Area are famous among surfers for their waves, rolling in from the atlantic. Surf Shops and Schools in Lahinch. For information on surfing in Doughmore and across the rest of the Island, see irishsurfer.com, the irish surfing community website

Canoeing

The River Shannon is best for lake canoeing; sea canoeists and canoe surfers find some of Europe's best sites along our west coast. There are approved canoe centers.

Diving

The quality of the water makes our coastal waters a paradise for subaqua divers! Averaging underwater visibility is over 12 metres!

Sailing

The Shannon Estuary and, most notably Lough Derg in East Clare are sought-after places to sail. The Kilrush Marina offers Yacht harbouring and chartering possibilities.
